Since their loss to the Black Bears back in January the Panthers have gone on a six game unbeaten streak to stay one step ahead of the Whalers. The Whalers had an opportunity to pull even with the Panthers when the two teams met on Feb. 12th. The Panthers jumped out to an early 3 goal lead on goals from Fox, Wheeler & Alexeyev, but a natural hat trick from Defeo tied the game at 3 late in the third. Needing a win to share the #1 spot the Whalers came up just short with the game finishing in a 3-3 tie. The two will face off again in the last regular season game, which may very well determine the regular season champion!

n late October Emily Nash of Lunenburg High School shot a 75 in the Central MA Boys Division 3 golf tournament. Emily plays on the boys team because Lunenburg doesn't have a girl team. Emily's score of 75 was THE best individual score of all the players in the tournament. When it came time to present the trophy to the top players it was given to a boy who Emily beat by four shots because the MIAA rules state "a girl cannot win the boys individual tournament." Girls are allowed to play and help their team's overall score but a girl cannot wear the crown.
